Former SGPC chief Bibi Jagir Kaur has lost the elections in Punjab. She lost the seat to Sukhpal Singh Khaira of the Congress from Bholath constituency. Earlier Jagir Kaur had made her entry into politics by defeating Sukhpal's father, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, the radical leader.
Though Jagir Kaur has been controversial due to her daughter's death, but she had won the elections after the incident. This loss is being attributed to other factors like her not so welcome behaviour as well as continuous work done by Khaira.
