Patiala dog show on February 18

Patiala Kennel Club is holding its 28th and 29th ALL BREED CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOWS on Sunday the 18th February 2007 under the banner of "PATIALA HERITAGE SOCIETY" at Raja Bhalendra Singh Stadium (Polo Grounds), Patiala.
Dr. Jose F Mendiola from Philippines and Mrs. Leela Ratnam from Chennai will judge these shows. More than 300 dogs in around 40 Breeds from all over the country are expected to Participate in these shows.
The show will start at 10.00am on Sunday the 19th February 2006 at Polo Grounds Patiala. There will be no entry fee for spectators.
A statement from the Club states that it is committed to reviving the old tradition of the city of Patiala for its love for dogs. It was in this part of the country that First Kennel club, The Northern India Kennel Club was formed which was later changed into Indian Kennel Association in 1896. Only two Indians, The Maharajas of Patiala and Jind were the Vice Presidents while Lord Minto and Lord Irwin had been its Presidents.
Patiala Kennel Club has been holding its shows since 1991. The shows attract a large number of exhibitors from all over the country. Patiala Kennel Club has been once again chosen as a NODEL CLUB amongst the top clubs of the country, where points will be counted towards selecting the following "Dog of the year", "Reserve Dog of the year","Best Puppy of the year" and "Dog of the year, Bred in India".
