Keeping in view the Punjab Government's decision to give a last chance to all affected families who lost their kins in November 1984 riots for paying them ex-gratia grants, the Directorate Sainik Welfare, Punjab has urged all such Ex-servicemen/Servicemen including their families, who were killed either in trains or at other places during riots to avail this opportunity.
Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the Directorate said that all affected personnel should submit their application regarding killed personnel through their respective District Sainik Welfare Offices to Deputy Commissioners by May 15,2006.
The spokesmen further said that the application should include the name of personnel killed and also if any other family member killed, exact place of death/incident, whether any ex-gratia grant/relief or other financial assistance had been received by the heirs, details of the authorities which paid ex-gratia etc. and in case of change of residential address new address of legal heir/family member of the deceased.
