DGP Virk to be divested of election related duties
Election Commission of India has ordered that the state police chief S S Virk should be divested of poll related duties in Punjab. It has also sought a new panel of three police persons for discharging the duties. This follows a complaint by the Shiromani Akali Dal where it had alleged that Virk was hand in glove with the Congress government and had sought his removal.
