
The Punjab Governor, Gen. (Retd.) S.F. Rodrigues, PVSM VSM today administered the oath of office to Smt Rupan Deol Bajaj, Shri. P.K. Verma, Shri. R.K. Gupta and Shri Surinder Singh, as members of the State Information Commission, Punjab, at a brief but impressive ceremony at Punjab Raj Bhavan.
Earlier, the Chief Secretary, Shri K.R. Lakhanpal sought the permission of the Governor to start the swearing-in-ceremony. Soon after being sworn in, Smt. Rupan Deol Bajaj, Shri P.K. Verma, Shri R.K. Gupta and Shri Surinder Singh, signed the oath, counter-signed by the Governor.
Capt. Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister, Shri Rajan Kashyap, State Chief Information Commissioner and other senior civil and police officers of the Punjab Government were present on the occasion. The family members, friends and well-wishers of the newly sworn members also attended the ceremony.
Smt. Rupan Deol Bajaj and Shri P.K. Verma are both retired IAS officers of Punjab, Shri R.K. Gupta, a retired IPS officer and Shri Surinder Singh is a retired Chief Engineer from Punjab Government.
